One Degree of Separation

The Chorus presented “One Degree of Separation”, an evening honoring esteemed philanthropist and activist, Dr. Eva Haller. The evening included the girls performing Béla Bartók’s Hungarian Folk Songs, with the girls singing them in their native Hungarian. The girls discovered that the text, which ranged from playful to deeply poignant, continues to have relevance today. The folk songs were accompanied by chamber orchestra, and the Nadine Bommer Dance Company performed a modern interpretation of the text. In addition, Bartók’s Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion was performed exquisitely by Liana Pailodze Harron, Milana Strezeva, Dmitri Nilov and Svet Styanov.
