A Joint Concert with DC Youth Orchestra

The Chorus traveled to Washington, DC at the invitation of the DC Youth Orchestra to present a joint concert that paid tribute to the Civil Rights Movement, celebrated the Emancipation Proclamation and honored the legacies of Rosa Parks; Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.; Harriet Tubman; and Abraham Lincoln. This original piece for orchestra, chorus and narrator, created and conducted by Luke S. Frazier, was performed first in Washington, D.C. at THEARC Theater with NBC’s Barbara Harrison as narrator, and then the following week in New York City in the Great Hall at The City College of New York, with the legendary Denyce Graves narrating.
