RECORDING AND VIDEO OF

Even when He is silent

by Kim André Arnesen

Art and Video by Kevork Mourad

The Manhattan Girls Chorus recorded Even when He is silent by renowned composer Kim André Arnesen. The inspirational text which follows was discovered scratched on the wall of a concentration camp:

I believe in the sun, even when it is not shining

I believe in love, even when I feel it not

I believe in God, even when He is silent

The Chorus subsequently collaborated with celebrated artist Kevork Mourad in a moving and emotional video which was released in November 2016 with the following caption:

The beautiful hearts and souls of young women from many cultures coming together, offering hope for humanity.

The video was received with great enthusiasm and an outpouring of supportive comments and emails. Following are two notes we received:

“It is such a pleasure to see the fusion of two art forms – Kevork Mourad’s stunning time based visuals and composer Kim Andre Arnesen’s music, sung by the Manhattan Girls Chorus, into one powerful expression of humanity – from the tragic to the transcendent.”   –Yo-Yo Ma

“I really think this will make people believe there is hope for everyone. Not only because it is a heavenly performance, but because it also comes from the heart of young singers. Breathtaking and a delight from start to finish. A world class performance!”  –Kim André Arnesen, Composer
